Palm Sunday
Picture the scene: the gates of Jerusalem are buzzing, the city swollen with pilgrims, and suddenly Jesus appears — not on a warhorse, not surrounded by soldiers, but riding a humble donkey. To most people watching, it looked almost laughably ordinary. How could a man on that animal be anyone important, let alone the long‑promised Messiah? Rumors swirled about His miracles, but behind the scenes the religious leaders were whispering, scheming, and tightening their grip. The air was thick with both hope and hostility.
This week, Pastor Randy helps us see that Jesus’ entrance wasn’t a miscalculation — it was a declaration. By choosing a donkey and its colt, Jesus was fulfilling the ancient promises of Scripture. And more than that: He was signaling that a cosmic shift was underway. The old system of law, sacrifice, and striving was about to give way to a new covenant of grace, and an era freedom with a restored relationship to God. The donkey carried the weight of the old world. The colt shouldered the promise of the new.
For those with eyes to see, Jesus’ ride into Jerusalem wasn’t small or unimpressive — it was the moment heaven became real, the moment everything began to change. And it still changes people today!
